REFIT STIRRUP LEATHERS

Sometimes it can be difficult to refit stirrup leathers especially if there isn’t much of a gap between the top of the skirts.

Use a flexible steel rule to guide the leathers. The rule is about  50cms long, 2cms wide and available cheaply from tool suppliers.

Place the saddle upside down on something soft to protect it. I use a large square of 5cm thick foam.

Ease the rule up through the slot in the tree and onto the opposite skirt.

Just push the leather on top of the rule until you can grab the end, remove the rule and pull the leather through. Reposition the rule to push the leather back through.

Easy peasy.
